Business Language mini-course

Since I started teaching in Berlin, I have noticed three areas where even clients with great English often lack key vocab and struggle to speak about confidently.  So the idea of a mini-course, with 3 x 90-minute sessions just covering these topics, was born......


​Session 1: Language to describe trends and graphs
Are your sales fluctuating? Has there been a drop-off in the number of applicants? Will the market remain stable next year? In addition to language to describe trends, we also look in detail about how to describe/analyse graphs in English.

Session 2: Language for difficult meetings
How do you politely disagree with someone in English? Or what are useful phrases to back up your opinion when being challenged? As well as looking at language and tactics for this, there will be a chance to practice these skills in a relaxed class environment, so you feel more prepared going into the next tough meeting at work.

Session 3: Language for slides and charts
​Is the figure you want to highlight in the top left? Maybe you want to draw everybody’s attention to the 4th row down. Are you fully confident saying large numbers, dates and fractions? After introducing the language, all participants will have the chance to use it describing charts and presenting slides of their choice.

Just the same as my normal sessions, this course is very dynamic. Participants will spend most of the session time speaking, getting the opportunity to practice the new language using examples relevant to their work.

This course is suitable for levels B2-C1 and takes place at your company.
