this week's topic: giving advice
The topic: giving advice
My aim for this session is to give you practise giving advice. I will explain a difficult situation that someone is in. I will then put you in the break out rooms and you and your partner will discuss what advice you would give this person. We will then all come back together and you can compare your different ideas. We will repeat this three times with three different problems.
We will then finish the session with another round of the game Taboo that we played at the end of last session. There will be a new list of words and I will give you a bit longer to do it than last Friday.
Preparation:
It is not necessary to prepare however if you would like to, you can watch this explanation video on using the verbs 'could', 'should', 'must', 'have to' for giving advice. I am currently full of cold so apologies that my voice sounds a bit strange!.
If you would like to practise these verbs (known as modal verbs) further you can find more information and lots of exercises here.
